Water damage? Stop the mold before it starts
Mold needs moisture and time. Mold can start growing on wet materials within 24–48 hours. If the water is still fresh, drying it properly now may prevent a mold job later.
Signs you need this
- A burst pipe, overflowing appliance, or leak from above in the last few days
- Drywall that feels soft or cool to the touch near the leak
- Carpet or wood floors that are cupping or still damp
- A new musty smell a few days after “it dried out”

The 48-hour window
Surfaces that look dry can still hold water inside. Wall cavities, subfloors and insulation stay wet for days without dehumidifiers and air movers. We measure moisture, remove what cannot be dried, and dry the rest to normal readings. That is how you prevent the mold.
When mold has already started
If it has been more than a couple of days, or you smell must, we treat it as a mold job: containment, removal of affected materials, HEPA cleaning and antimicrobial treatment, then drying and rebuild.

Why we don’t test your mold: New York’s mold law (Labor Law Article 32) doesn’t let the same company assess and remediate the same project. A company that tests your home and then quotes you the removal has a conflict of interest. We only remediate, so our estimate is never inflated by our own test results.

Will fans alone dry my apartment?
Household fans move surface air but do not pull water out of walls and floors. Commercial dehumidifiers and measured drying are what prevent mold.
Should I call my insurance first or you first?
Stop the water and call us first to limit the damage; you can open the claim in parallel. We document the loss for your adjuster from the first visit.
